Jennifer Nnamani is a conductor—an Afro-futurist storyteller whose multitiered self-made orchestra branches into all things art, production and fashion. The first arm is Beaumonde (meaning “beautiful world”) Society: an eco-focused creative agency offering a library of services including public relations, event production, brand consulting, digital strategy and editorial production. On another arm, Fashion Envie: an ethical fashion storytelling platform inspiring eco-collectives to foster a sustainable future through an Afro-futuristic lens.
Each endeavor begins with service, and during her takeover, Nnamani wreathed our timeline in ideas around feminine creative excellence and eclectic hair narratives foundationed in support for the environment and lowering he ceiling of what those believe black bodies, black creative teams, and black thought can deem possible.
Every project begins with a feeling—an idea. For a talented curator, an idea can incubate its way through its first, second and third iteration in a matter of moments—on our Instagram Live, we saw this talent in action as Nnamani teased out release ideas for her Lady George collection—a gender-fluid fashion brand named after her maternal grandmother—set to release this year.
On another arm, Nnamani is at he helm of editorial production teams; pulling together the talents of creative titans like braid stylist Susy (also known as @africancreature), photographer Travis Matthews (also known as @a_kid_named_trav) and so many more through her takeover. Like any seasoned conductor, she is proficient in creative choice: well-incubated ideas, equally yoked teammates, cutting edge designers and quick, gut-centered selections—a curatorial mastermind congealing artful teamwork in a way that is beyond curatorial finesse, it’s pure orchestral balance.
