Start Here: In-Depth Customer Update — Issue One Re-Print

Dear CRWN Reader,

We are writing to you today having experienced some recent growing pains as a bootstrapped (self-funded) indie magazine. A vendor change and subsequent product issues have set our re-print of Issue No.01 far behind schedule. We’ve been actively working to resolve the issue and it has been quite challenging to confirm a solid delivery date.

Throughout this journey with CRWN, we’ve “practiced in public,” and that definitely comes with risk — and the fear of letting you down. But the only reason we’ve made it this far is because women and men like you have invested their belief and their dollars in our vision, and all but forced us to manifest it. Fortunately, this issue is limited in scope. 🙏🏿

Not only do we value your patronage — we value your patience. Delivering a sub-par product to our customers is simply not an option. Please know that we are working 24/7 do right by you: currently this consists of examining magazines, submitting claims and shipping magazines back to the printer.

Update!! We have gone to print — again! — and your issues will be shipped to you the week of the March 27th.

In the meantime, we are simultaneously enlisting the talent of some of the most official Black people in the world to deliver a Love Issue that is worthy of coffee table placement for years to come. Issue No.02 is coming soon and you can view the most recent behind-the-scenes coverage here.

In the interest of transparency and improved communication going forward, we’ve launched CRWN InsideInside is a new hub for our customers to access the most up-to-date production & delivery updates; and will offer additional insight into what happens behind the scenes as we produce CRWN. We know many of you are entrepreneurs and business people like us; so hopefully you'll learn from our setbacks — and be inspired by our wins!

Thank you so much for bearing with us. If you still have questions, you can reach our (new!) customer support team directly at support@crwnmag.com

Finally, we will host a live Q&A via Google Hangouts this Sunday, March 26th at 7pm and 9pm EST.

Thank you so much for your support and understanding. It is an honor to work on your behalf each day.

— Lindsey & Nkrumah
