Could you be a child of Oshun?

Since hanging out with you all on the gram Thursday, it’s been a whacky week and weekend, but I didn’t want to forget to share with you all where my daily adventures took me in Philly

Places: My office for the day was a black-owned cafe around the corner from my apartment in Brewerytown, Philadelphia called iMunch Cafe! Not only do they have delicious paninis and smoothies, but the music selection will keep you attentive throughout your workday. The soundtrack of the day was a fluid mix of Prince, Migos, Future, Donell Jones, and New Edition. 

Products: When I started my day off with you all I was applying a homemade detox mask. If you suffer from oily skin and/or clogged pores this may be great for you also. The ingredients you will need are 60% bentonite clay, 30% activated charcoal, 10% turmeric and deionized water to bring everything together. Mix the water with all ingredients until you get a thick clay consistency. This is a mask you will FEEL working. Your face will literally begin pulsating! Random: During the takeover, I introduced you all to my new Zucca plant named Oshun. I am so excited because this is my first plant! I brought a plant into my home for many reasons. The first is health. Both my fiancé and I suffer from asthma and allergies. Through my research I found out that plants help with filtering the air in your home. The second and most important reason was spiritual. I wanted to introduce living things into my home that increased the amount of positive vibrations. I know you may be wondering why I named my plant Oshun. Well a few months ago during an ancestral reading I found out I may be a daughter of Oshun. Oshun is an orisha, a spirit, a deity, or a goddess that reflects one of the manifestations of God in the Ifá and Yoruba religions. She is one of the most popular and venerated orishas. If you see the number 5 a lot (my two most recent apartments were on the 5th floor), are attracted to the color yellow or gold and enjoy sweets, specifically honey, then you too may be a child of Oshun. FYI: Beyonce claims to be a daughter of Oshun too. Hence the Beyhive, blonde hair, honey kissed skin and the symbolism in her art shown below.
