Project Beauty Expo — A Multicultural Beauty Experience
This August, the Project Beaty Expo is coming to NYC! PBE is a highly curated one-day event, where indie brands in the beauty, wellness and lifestyle sectors are celebrated and directly connected with other women of color. Founder Brittany Brown noticed how underserved women of color are in the beauty aisles of both big box and niche retailers; and in response, hosted the first expo last summer in Washington DC. CRWN's co-founder Lindsey spoke on last year's panel along with Desiree Verdejo of Vivrant Beauty, Heygorjess, Kitiya King of Mischo Beauty and Judy Acevedo — and we'll be in the house again this year selling our latest issues of CRWN!
The #PBE2017 panel features indie brand founders Selma Idris of The Brown Crayon Project, Lauren Napier of Lauren Napier Beauty, LA-based blogger and co-founder of Here Now Us, Vic Styles, and Lauren Ash — founder of Black Girl In Om and co-founder Party Noire and Ivory and Ash Lifestyle. Guests will learn the ins and outs of starting a brand in the beauty and wellness sector.
Attendees will also be able to shop from indie brands and connect with industry influencers and tastemakers. Many well-known and Indie brands like Eden Body Works, Bloomsbury Square, Lauren Napier Beauty, Brooklyn Limegreen, Girl + Hair, Kaike and Rooted Treasure will be at the expo, where guests can sample and purchase products and talk with the founder or decision makers. Guests can also take part in complimentary manicures provided by Sundays Studio.
If you're down for trying new products and interested in learning about natural beauty. health and wellness; join us on Sunday, August 13th at White Space Chelsea to celebrate the indie brands that keep us in mind.
